BREVE RECORRIDO HISTÓRICO DE LA EMOCIÓN: DESDE PLATÓN HASTA DAMÁSIO Y LA TOMA DE DECISIONES
Resumen
¿Es la emoción una pieza clave e inmanente en el proceso de toma de decisión?, esta es la pregunta de investigación y génesis de este pequeño y sucinto ensayo diacrónico de la teoría de la emoción. Se consideró necesario trazar una pequeña pincelada del recorrido histórico de la teoría de la emoción a fin de conocer los puntos de vista de los autores más reconocidos en torno al tema. Y así encontramos a Platón, Aristóteles y Descartes desde la filosofía, Darwin desde la biología, James desde la psicología, Watson y su postura conductista, Cannon desde la fisiología, Papez, Jakob, MacLean y Damásio desde la neurociencia (neurofisiología, neuropsicología, etc.). Cada autor que trataremos, dispone de una amplia y extensa literatura, por ende, solo haremos un toque tangencial a cada uno de ellos con el objeto de edificar el andamio para la necesaria hermenéutica en torno a la participación de la emoción en la toma de decisiones a nivel personal y profesional. Solo en la medida que estudiemos con esmero académico, solo tomando conciencia de su importancia, solo con su investigación interdisciplinar, es que entenderemos el carácter «transversal» que tiene la emoción en nuestra vida, con especial énfasis en la toma de decisión, de hecho, actúa como el timonel en nuestro quehacer diario.
